Time flies when you're having fun! And even when you're not!!! I've had a mixture of both since I last posted a blog.
But looking on the bright side first of all, I have recently had a family holiday. I have no children of my own but I am accepted by my sister and brother-in-law and their children, and their children as well.
Recently we went on a family holiday to a National Trust manor in Derbyshire. Some days the families did their own thing, and sometimes we joined up for a picnic lunch in a pretty spot. We all met together in the evening for an evening meal, cooked by each family member in turn - except me!!!
I think it was a shock to my system to return home and have to cook my own meals! And I missed the company of all ages very much indeed. Anyway my health did a bit of a down turn. But with the good help of a young doctor and district nurses, I am on the mend.
I am still here, and ready to help you in any way I can. Maybe you would just like an on-line chat? Do get in touch, and I am sorry for the gap in my blogs.
Love, Peace and Blessings,
Brenda. See the box on the right-hand side of the page for how to make contact.

STILL HERE FOR YOU!
I have just renewed my Professional Liability Insurance by 'phone, and it reminded me that I am getting a bit behind with things. I have not actually taught Yoga over the past year or so - health issues have got in the way! But I am here, willing and able to give you advice and help you in any way I can.
So ..... this may be my last year for doing that. I don't really know : I live for the day always!!! But I now see that I missed out on last month's blog. I am very sorry if any of you looked for a blog and couldn't find one.
Age creeps up on you, doesn't it? This past weekend was my birthday, and as it wasn't a special one with a nought at the end, I didn't think anything special would happen. However, on the Saturday my sister and brother-in-law took me to the Higgins, recently refurbished, museum and art gallery in Bedford. I had a short tour of it, which was lovely for me. I particularly enjoyed the watercolours. And we had a good lunch in the nearby restaurant.
This "formal" part of my birthday was fine but it was almost overwhelmed by being taken to see a Spring Meadow full of cowslips in bloom in a nearby village.
My birthday continued to be blessed with a visit from my niece and her partner on the Sunday. More lovely flowers and thoughtful little presents from the two boys (11 and 12 years). And another very nice lunch out!
Sometimes life does us proud. Every now and then, when I am in danger of forgetting, it reminds me, anyway, that there is a lot left to live for.
I hope you all have those special times now and then. If you feel that you have strayed off that path, or that you just need some good Yoga advice ..... well, I am here for you.
Brenda with love, peace and blessings to you all.

FEBRUARY FILLDYKE!
Our waterlogged Fbruary is almost over, so I won't dwell on that! Here we have not had the severe bad weather that they've had in the West country and down in Cornwall and Devon, but nevertheless we have gone on and off Flood Alert like a yo-yo, and cars have had to come out of our undercroft garage and park where they can at the front of our block of flats.
The outlook from my first-floor flat is now changing. The four poplar trees which have been one side of my view are being lopped down by the Council. Why? I am not sure but I think they may be a danger in case they should fall in a gale onto the road just beyond them. So I now have a clear view of the road and I shall miss the gracious poplar trees.
All the same, that is something I must accept - as there are lots of other bigger changes that life thrusts upon us. And I expect I shall get to accept this one!
When such changes happen in our lives, we have to undergo a mind-shift, and however difficult that is, we have to do it unless they are really not for the best! When I need help in this, I turn to my Yoga Practices : Meditation and lately, Mindfulness Meditation. They have made me think straight in the past, and helped me to reach a state of acceptance over things that have at first not been to my liking. So that is what I shall do now.
Do contact me if you would like to share your views with me - and maybe others who visit this site.
Om Shanti!

FACING BOTH WAYS!
That is what Janus, the January God does. We must still look to the winter, expect those frosty mornings and chilly nights, but now and then the sun finds a path through the clouds and reminds us that Spring is on its way..
I was never an athletic, games sort of person, but when I was quite young my Dad did up an old Hercules bike for me. He gave that task all his loving care and skill. And despite my bike having no gears at all, it became my very good friend. I rode the two or three miles up the High Street to the Secondary Grammar School in the mornings, back at lunch-time for family lunch, and then a repetition for afternoon school and back for tea.
Later, I rode round the country lanes with my friend, Pat, and we even tested our skill by riding from Lowestoft to Cambridge one weekend with one overnight stay at a Youth Hostel. and one with my Aunt in Haverhill. That was a Great Adventure : we marvelled at all the students' bikes in Cambridge. Then, it did not enter my mind that much later in my life I would come to live in Cambridgeshire!
But lots of things happen in each lifetime, and we cannot predict what they will be. Like Janus, we must be prepared to face both ways, and take whatever comes to us in good spirit.
Spring is on its way; amid the frowns from looking back, give a smile or two for the future!
A belated Happy New Year to all of you, today is what matters, but look to the future with a good heart. Who knows what it may brng to you?
